This Privacy Policy explains how ImagineBuddies ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website at imaginebuddies.com and our AI-powered phone call service (the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

From parents/guardians (Subscribers):

• Phone number — used to identify your account, send login codes, and match incoming calls to your subscription.
• Email address — collected by Stripe at checkout; used to send account-related communications.
• Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
• Name — collected by Stripe at checkout for billing purposes.

From the phone call Service (automatically):

• Caller phone number — provided by Twilio when a call is placed; used to identify accounts and enforce free trial limits.
• Call transcripts — a text record of what was said during each call is saved and viewable in the parent dashboard.
• Call metadata — duration, character selected, date and time of each call.

What we do NOT collect:

• We do not ask children to provide their name, age, address, school, or any other personal information during calls.
• We do not record audio from calls. Only text transcripts (from speech-to-text processing) are stored.
• We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising.

2. How We Use Information

• To operate and deliver the Service (route calls, identify accounts, enforce limits).
• To process payments via Stripe.
• To send login verification codes via SMS.
• To provide call history and insights in the parent dashboard.
• To improve the safety and quality of the Service.
• To send important account notifications (subscription changes, service updates).

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent personal information to any third party.

3. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

ImagineBuddies is designed for use by children under 13, operated under parental supervision. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

• We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
• Children interact with the Service only through phone calls. The AI characters are explicitly instructed never to ask children for personal information.
• Parents can view all call transcripts in the dashboard and request deletion of their child's call history at any time by contacting us.
• Account creation requires a parent or guardian to complete Stripe checkout.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate ImagineBuddies:

• Twilio — phone call routing and SMS messaging. Twilio processes phone numbers and call audio (for speech-to-text). Twilio Privacy Policy
• Anthropic — AI language model that generates character responses. Call transcripts (text only) are sent to Anthropic's API. Anthropic Privacy Policy

Each of these providers is bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements. We select providers who meet high standards for data protection.

5. Data Retention

• Call transcripts and metadata are retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period after cancellation to resolve disputes.
• You may request deletion of your call history at any time by contacting us.
• Free-trial records (anonymous phone numbers) are retained to enforce the one-time trial limit.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your information:

• All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
• Sessions are protected with secure, HTTP-only cookies.
• Login codes expire after 10 minutes and are single-use.
• Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe and never touches our servers.

7. Your Rights

As a Subscriber, you have the right to:

• Access the call history associated with your account (available in the dashboard).
• Request deletion of your personal data and call records.
• Cancel your subscription at any time.
