Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 15, 2026
ImagineBuddies serves children ages 3–8. We take children's privacy extremely seriously. We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the Service and never sell personal information to third parties.
This Privacy Policy explains how Sueoka Ventures LLC, operating as ImagineBuddies ("we", "us", or "our"), collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website at imaginebuddies.com and our AI-powered phone call service (the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
From parents/guardians:
- Phone number — used to verify your identity (SMS OTP), send account notices, and match incoming calls to your account.
- Consent record — the date, time, and version of the parental consent notice you agreed to under COPPA.
- Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
From the phone call Service (automatically):
- Caller phone number — provided by Twilio when a call is placed; used to match calls to consented accounts.
- Call metadata — duration, character selected, date and time of each call.
- Derived topic highlights (paid accounts only) — after a call ends, an AI model reads the in-memory conversation and extracts up to 3 short topic notes (e.g., "loves dinosaurs," "curious about space"). These pass through a PII filter before storage. Raw transcripts are never stored on any plan.
What we do NOT collect:
- We do not ask children to provide their name, age, address, school, or any other personal information during calls. Characters are explicitly instructed to ignore and redirect any such information if a child volunteers it.
- We do not record audio from calls.
- We do not store raw call transcripts on any plan.
- We do not collect any information from phone numbers that have not registered and given parental consent — unknown callers hear a brief message directing them to imaginebuddies.com and the call ends with nothing stored.
- We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising. We use a single session cookie solely to keep you logged in to the parent dashboard.
2. How We Use Information
- To operate and deliver the Service (route calls, identify accounts, enforce limits).
- To process payments via Stripe.
- To send login verification codes via SMS.
- To provide call history and insights in the parent dashboard.
- To improve the safety and quality of the Service.
- To send important account notifications (subscription changes, service updates).
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent personal information to any third party.
3. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
ImagineBuddies is designed for children ages 3–8. As a service directed to children under 13, we comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), 15 U.S.C. § 6501 et seq., and the FTC's implementing regulations at 16 CFR Part 312.
- Consent gate: Phone calls from numbers without a registered, consented parent account are rejected immediately. The caller hears a brief message directing them to imaginebuddies.com, and no data is collected or stored from that call.
- Verifiable parental consent (VPC): We use the FTC-approved "text-plus" method. Registration requires: (1) the parent checks a consent checkbox and receives a one-time SMS verification code; (2) upon verifying, the parent receives a confirmatory SMS summarizing the consent. Both steps are logged with timestamp and consent-notice version.
- No direct collection from children: Children interact with the Service only through phone calls. Characters are instructed never to ask for personal information and to ignore and redirect any such information if a child volunteers it.
- Data minimization by design: Raw transcripts are never stored. Free accounts store only call metadata. Paid accounts store short derived topic highlights, which pass through a PII filter before storage.
- Parent access and deletion: Parents can view call history in the dashboard and request deletion of all data associated with their child at any time by emailing support@imaginebuddies.com or writing to the address in Section 10.
- No sharing with third parties for advertising: We never sell or rent information about children or their parents to third parties for advertising purposes.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate ImagineBuddies:
- Twilio — phone call routing and SMS messaging. Twilio processes phone numbers and call audio (for speech-to-text). Twilio Privacy Policy
- Anthropic — AI language model that generates character responses. Call transcripts (text only) are sent to Anthropic's API. Anthropic retains API inputs and outputs for up to 30 days for safety monitoring purposes, after which they are deleted. Anthropic does not use your data to train its models without consent. Anthropic Privacy Policy
- ElevenLabs — text-to-speech service that generates character voices. Character response text is sent to ElevenLabs. ElevenLabs Privacy Policy
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription management. Stripe Privacy Policy
Each of these providers is bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements. We select providers who meet high standards for data protection.
5. Data Retention
- Raw transcripts: Never stored on any plan. Call conversation text exists only in memory during the call and is discarded when the call ends.
- Derived topic highlights (paid accounts): Deleted immediately when a subscription is cancelled. Also deleted automatically if the account has no call activity for 12 months.
- Call metadata (date, duration, character): Retained while your account is active.
- Anthropic API: Character responses are generated by Anthropic's API. Per Anthropic's data retention policy, API inputs and outputs are retained for up to 30 days for safety monitoring, then deleted. We have configured ElevenLabs with logging disabled to minimize third-party data retention.
- You may request immediate deletion of all your data at any time by contacting us.
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your information:
- All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
- Sessions are protected with secure, HTTP-only cookies.
- Login codes expire after 10 minutes and are single-use.
- Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe and never touches our servers.
7. Your Rights
As a Subscriber, you have the right to:
- Access the call history associated with your account (available in the dashboard).
- Request deletion of your personal data and call records.
- Cancel your subscription at any time.
To exercise these rights, email support@imaginebuddies.com or write to the address in Section 10.
8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you specific rights regarding your personal information:
- Right to Know — You may request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources from which we collected it, the business or commercial purpose for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
- Right to Delete — You may request deletion of personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to Correct — You may request correction of inaccurate personal information we hold about you.

We do not store call transcripts or audio recordings on any plan. We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by CCPA beyond what is described in this policy.
